CHILDREN'S FANCY DRESS PROCESSION (1961) film no: 3349

Made by Eric Bolderson, this is a film of the changing of the guards in London followed by a children's fancy dress parade in Castleford.

The film opens with some short underexposed shots of the changing of the guard in London. The film then switches to a children's fancy dress procession in Castleford, with a policeman on a bicycle. Some of the children walk down the street, including a boy in a cowboy outfit sitting in a pram which is being pushed by an older girl. The parade Queen sits on a float. She is dressed in regal dress and a crown surrounded by courtiers. The film closes with more views of the procession.
