HOLIDAY IN BLACKPOOL (1937) film no: 2708

Download description pdf

Made by a Sheffield-based businessman, this film documents a family trip to Blackpool.

The film opens with two girls on a railway fairground ride. The ride goes around in circles, and parents can be seen standing nearby. This is followed by brief shots of the family playing on the beach before moving onto scenes of the Blackpool Illuminations.

The next day the children play again on the fairground rides, and there is scenic footage of the coastline at Blackpool. The Tower can be seen in the distance. This is followed by up close-up footage of the Blackpool Tower before extensive footage of the famous Illuminations.
