This is a promotional film made to encourage new businesses, especially those based in London and other southern cities, to set up headquarters in Harrogate.  The film is told through the story of a businessman and his wife who are looking to relocate from London.  They have come to visit Harrogate to see if it meets their standards, and in doing so, tour around many of the local attractions and businesses.

Shortly after returning from her famous flight to Australia, Amy Johnson visited Hedon on 11th August, 1930.  This film documents her visit and includes footage of her plane and her meeting with the Mayor and Mayoress.

The Pace Egg play is performed each year on Good Friday in the towns and villages in the Upper Calder Valley.  The name derives from the Latin word for Easter - Pasche. This film documents the street performances of the play in which the actors are dressed in traditional mummers costumes.

CEAG LIGHT BULB FACTORY, BARNSLEY

This promotional film documents the manufacturing process of light bulbs at the CEAG factory in Barnsley.  The light bulbs manufactured played a major role in the mining industry and the safety elements of these bulbs are highlighted in this film as well. 

FORMATION OF THE HOMEGUARD, THORNTON, BRADFORD

This film was made by an amateur filmmaker and member of the Bradford Cine Circle.  It uses intertitles throughout to explain the purpose of the Home Guard and how they came into existence.  The Home Guard was originally known as the Local Defence Volunteers and eventually took a much more active defence role during World War II.

'Home Grown' is a film about life-style, personal choice and principles.  Set in the fields of Brickyard Farm, Ackworth, West Yorkshire, Home Grown tells the story of an organic farmer John Brook who forms an unusual attachment with eco-activists.  Home Grown is shot at the third annual Northern Green Gathering and captures the spirit and hope of a growing contemporary culture of grass roots activism.
