This is an idyllic film by Charles Chislett that captures four children holidaying with their families in the Yorkshire Dales.  The filmmaker shows his son and daughter and two other little girls as they wander around and play in the many famous landmarks such as Buttertubs Pass, Aysgarth Falls and historic towns such as Richmond.  The film also captures the process of making Wenslydale cheese.  Intertitles are used throughout the film to identify the different areas that the families visit in the Yorkshire Dales.  There are also extensive views of the surrounding countryside.
The film opens with extensive views of the snow covered Dales village  showing the church, village green and houses.

This is a humorous, animated film about a mean-spirited industrial tycoon who sells his soul to the Devil in exchange for his lost youth.  It is a version of the Faust legend set in Batley, Yorkshire.  The film was made by Tony Hall and others at Leeds University and was also based on a story by William Beaumont, a local writer now deceased.

This is a film made by Charles Chislett documenting a trip by barge and by boat along the Sheffield and Tinsley Canal.  The trip continues on along the River Don, through Stainforth and the Keadby Canal, and eventually ends at Thorne.  The film includes footage from the boat along this scenic journey.

SHEFFIELD SPARTAN SWIMMERS

A light hearted amateur documentary, this film tells the story of the Sheffield Spartan Swimmers who swam at Millhouse outdoor pool, located in Sheffield.   The swimmers (all men) dive, perform synchronised swimming, and race in the winter snow as well as the summer.  Most of the swimmers are named in the intertitles.
