The car seen at 30 seconds has the registration GCP227 - 'CP' was the Halifax suffix (along with JX) and GCP was from 1956... Sorry, I just happen to remember that!

I can provide a little more information about the 1952 men's hairdressing competition shown at the end of this film. The hairdresser first seen - with his blond haired model - at about 18 minutes and 22 seconds into the film; and then again later proudly holding a cup; is my Dad - Stan Cliff.

This competition would have taken place just before he moved from Leeds where he was originally based - to Bridlington where he then had a hairdressing business until he was in his seventies!

Someone did a pencil drawing of Dad with this particular model at about the time of this competition, and it was framed and hung in Dad's shop throughout his life as a hairdresser!

Stan went on to become Provincial Master of the Hairdresser's Guild in Bridlington and East Yorkshire so there will be quite a few hairdressers as well as his customers who will remember him - though perhaps not as the slim and very serious young man he is in this film!
