H. Dawsons was a very posh furniture store in the town, we could not afford to shop there, and there was a sale room around the back of the shop which used to auction off second hand goods.

It was interesting to see ladies in the film wearing fur coats. The young fashions in the late 60's early 70's were for rabbit fur coats and jackets worn with plastic high white boots. Older ladies dressed in musquash, or if they were very well off mink or the even more expensive sable.

Wish we could still buy crimpolene dresses. I used to have suits and dresses made from this material it never went out of shape - lasted for ever and felt really comfortable. You could just wash it, hang it up to dry, no ironing, perfect.
